Sioux Arrow Replica 8 (NEW!)
$165.00This wicked Sioux arrow replica copies an original artifact that was collected in the late 1800’s and is currently in the Smithsonian. This arrow is made for display, but the exact same materials and construction techniques the Plains Indians used to make their arrows were used to make the recreation you see here. And because of that, this is a fully functional arrow that could actually be shot, although that’s not recommended due to the price.
The shaft is made of a hardwood shoot with straight shaft grooves that run from the forward fletch wraps to just below the point. The fletch is a mix of turkey wing and tail feathers secured with sinew and glued to the shaft with hide glue. The point is made from an old barrel hoop and the paint design copies the original artifact. This shaft would have been used for hunting the massive American bison and also warfare. Scroll through the pictures to see the George Catlin painting of a bison he witnessed in its last moments on Earth after being shot with an arrow identical to the one offered here. How’s that for owning a piece of history? Arrow is shipped in a sturdy PVC pipe to ensure safe delivery to your door. Free shipping within the U.S.
