This glass point is a copy of the type used by Ishi, famously known as the last wild Indian of North America. This little arrow point is made from a thin piece of window glass, and is identical to the ones Ishi made when he was living in the wilderness of Northern California. He’d tip his arrows with these points and use them for hunting deer and other game in the wilds along Deer and Mill Creeks. There are a few surviving examples of Ishi’s original hunting arrows and they were tipped with glass points identical to the one seen here.
