This replica Northern Paiute arrow is based on some originals that came from the Pyramid Lake region of nothern Nevada and are currently housed in the Smithsonian.  This arrow has a shaft made from a hardwood shoot.  It's fletched with 3 turkey wing feathers held with sinew and hide glue.  The small Desert Side Notched obsidian point is identical to the ancient ones still found in Great Basin deserts today.  It's held with pine sap glue and deer sinew wrappings.  The front of the shaft and the area under the feathers are painted with natural earth ochre, NOT store bought colors.  The green paint is identical to the green that often is found on original Pauite arrows and I discovered the source of that green pigment in a remote area of eastern Oregon by accident.  I'm certain this same pigment was used prehistorically and traded to numerous groups because it's such a unique color. This beautiful arrow is a perfect example of the ingenuity of the Great Basin tribes who relied on these arrows for their big game hunting.

Arrow length: 28 inches.

Arrow is shipped in a sturdy PVC pipe.  Info card included.
