Hupa Arrow Replica SOLD

This gorgeous arrow is a museum-quality replica of original Hupa arrows from Northern California.  The Hupa consistently made some of the most exquisite archery gear in all of North America. And now you can own a piece of it for yourself.  This arrow copies the original arrows in every aspect.  The same species of shoot the Hupa used was used for this arrow shaft.  This arrow has all the traits that the original arrows have.  give this arrow a hundred years and you wouldn't be able to tell it from the originals I copied.

The main shaft is syringa.  It has a serviceberry foreshaft and it's tipped with a pretty stone point chipped out of yellow jasper.  It's fletched with turkey tail feathers that are secured with deer sinew and glued with hide glue.  The foreshaft, the portion of the shaft under the feathers and any areas where it's painted also has very fine rings sanded into the shaft.  These fine rings resemble threads on a screw and are made using the horsetail rush plant.  These were very common on many original Hupa arrows and are a telltale trait of arrows from that region.  And this arrow has them.  It's very time consuming to put these rings into the shaft because they're done one narrow band at a time, but I faithfully copy the original artifacts so no corners are cut.
