Yew Kid's Bow and 3 Arrows SOLD

This cool primitive archery set is designed for kids.  It's completely hand made and mirrors the natural archery tools of our ancestors, just in a smaller package.  The bow is made from a small sapling of pacific yew from the Cascade mountains of the Pacific Northwest.  The sapling was split in half and carefully tillered so the bow bends in a smooth arc so the strain is distributed evenly along its length.  The outside of the tree became the outside (back) of the bow, and the inner heartwood of the tree is the inside (belly) of the bow.  This is exactly how full-sized original primitive bows of yew were made.  This bow pulls 25 lbs at its maximum draw of 19 1/2 inches.  The handle is wrapped with a narrow strip of velvety soft leather and the string is dark brown Dacron B-50 for years of trouble-free shooting.

This bow also comes with 3 arrows.  They are made of pine dowels that have been fletched with real wild turkey feathers that are wrapped on front and back with artificial sinew.  They were applied with a twist so the arrows spin in flight, which improves stability and accuracy.  Two of the arrows are blunts for practice, but the third is tipped with a very sharp, finely serrated obsidian arrowhead for hunting.  It was glued in place and wrapped on with a strand of artificial sinew.  The red rings visible toward the front end of the arrows are draw point markers and they indicate the maximum draw length of this bow.  Do not draw those arrows beyond that red mark, otherwise you risk overstraining and damaging or even breaking the bow. As long as you don't overstrain this bow and don't abuse it, it'll last longer than you will. 

Just because this bow is listed as a kids bow doesn't mean it's a toy.  I challenge anyone to find a kid's bow in Walmart or Dick's Sporting goods that shoots better than this bow.  It shoots with surprising speed for such a small weapon and can seriously hurt someone if used carelessly.  Always shoot under adult supervision, be aware of your target and what's beyond it, and don't shoot towards people, pets, or property.  With properly designed arrows this bow is worthy of hunting small and medium sized game like rabbits, squirrels, raccoons, coyotes and even pesky feral cats.  The obsidian tipped arrow is ONLY to be used for hunting and should not be used for target shooting.
