The Chumash were a tribe of fisherman and hunters who onced lived near present-day Los Angeles, California. They hunted deer in the Hollywood hills and collected shellfish and various other marine foods from the rich waters of the Pacific Ocean.  This arrow is a replica of a Chumash arrow found in a cave in Santa Barbara county.  It's made of reed with a hardwood foreshaft of wild cherry onto which a dark grey flint point is secured with pine sap glue and wrapped with deer sinew.  The fletching is Canada goose wing feathers secured with sinew that's also been glued with hide glue.  Sketches of the original arrow are illustrated in the Traditional Bowyer's Bible Vol. 1.
