Snyders Point SOLD

This Snyders Point is made from tan heat-treated Burlington chert from Missouri. Authentic examples are highly sought after and command rather high prices, but you can own this beautiful replica for mere pennies on the dollar.  In prehistoric times these points were typically used as knives and were mounted to a short, stout wooden handle. This design is very well-thought out...the round profile made Snyders very efficient at skinning animals, and I prefer my own stone skinning knives to have this same rounded shape.  They were also resharpened bi-facially, meaning flakes were removed from both faces instead of just one face.
