Gunther Barbed Point 2 SOLD

This killer Gunther Barbed arrow point is made of mustard yellow jasper and is a fantastic example of the upper eschelon of arrow point used by the Indians along the Rogue River in southern Oregon and down into northern California.  This point has great symmetry, really fine, sharp serrations and a needle sharp tip.  This point comes in its own display case that protects the point from damage and displays it perfectly. 

Some people surmise that these points were used for shooting fish because of the extreme barbs, but archaeologists have found traces of bighorn sheep, deer, and elk blood on original Gunther points, indicating these points were used for hunting big game.  I killed a deer with an agate Gunther point in 2015 and it cut massive holes through both lungs.  That deer only fled 60 yards before collapsing mid-run, proving these points are just as deadly as they are beautiful.  Click photos for larger images.
