Fine Pressure Flaker 2

This very fine pressure flaker is made from a mild steel welding rod and it has the working tool ground down for very fine use. This tool is perfect for making very fine, exquisite points like those shown in the photo.  It has the perfect softness so it grabs the stone but isn't too weak that it bends and deforms when pressure is applied.  This tool is 7 inches long and will last you at least a year before it needs replacing.  I use it as-is, but you could drill a hole in a short piece of wood and insert it into that to give you a more substantial handle for more control.  I find that unnecessary, since this tool is only for fine, delicate finishing work.  But it does a great job at removing very fine flakes for super fine serrations, very intricate notching, and for making needle sharp and impossibly delicate tips on stone points that will wow your friends.
