Dichroic Glass Knife 3 SOLD

This stunning knife has a zig-zag of dichroic glass with alternating spots of magenta and gold above the zig-zag and dark blue and aqua green dots below.  The dichroic layer was fused into a piece of black and white marbled glass and a clear layer is then fused over that to protect the color. This blade was labor intensive to make and required multiple firings in a glass kiln.  The other side of the blade is black glass with a clear tip. It was then carefully chipped into a long, sleek dagger-like blade that is set into a handle of exotic Lacewood.  Although difficult to show in the photos, the handle has an attractive lattice like pattern of different colored wood. The handle has been sealed with urethane to enhance the grain.  The junction of blade and handle has been wrapped with artificial sinew.  This knife also comes with its own custom-fitted stand that can be placed on a desk or shelf to display the knife.  Click photos for larger images.
