Osage Orange Bow Stave SOLD

This very clean Osage orange stave has been seasoned for 6 years and is ready to be made into a hunting worthy bow the moment it arrives at your door.  The bark has been carefully peeled off but the sapwood is untouched.  It is a rather narrow stave 1 1/2 inches wide at center, but is a bit longer (67 inches) to compensate.  This stave will make a nice, narrow hunting worthy bow with a minimal of wood removal and effort on your part.  Osage orange bows can handle a narrow, thick cross section better than many other North American hardwoods.  The growth rings are somewhat narrow, but that means this was a slower growing tree and the wood will be correspondingly harder and stronger.  This stave has some very monor snakes along its length, but these can be easily straightened out with grease and dry heat.  It also has a slight reflex on one limb...the other limb can be greased, heated, and bent to match.

Stave Specs: Osage orange (seasoned 6 years), 67 inches long, 1 1/2 inches wide at center, 1 5/8 inches thick at center.
